•Transko
In 2010, the United States Congress passed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. Section 1502 of the act imposes a supply chain reporting requirements on publicly traded companies to promote transparency and consumer awareness regarding the use of conflict minerals. Conflict minerals are defined as gold (Au), tantalum (Ta), tin (Sn) and tungsten (W) derived from ores which have been mined in Democratic Republic of Congo and its neighboring countries (hereby referred to as “DRC area”) by mines that directly or indirectly finance or benefit armed groups in the DRC area.
Transko Electronics is committed to sourcing responsibly and is aware of the situation in the DRC area where the mining and sales of these minerals have helped fuel war and human rights violations in the region. As a socially responsible company, we support the efforts to rid the world of such violence and atrocities.
As a private corporation, Transko is not legally obligated to meet the reporting requirements.
However, in order to support our customers, many of whom are publicly traded, and therefore subject to the reporting requirement, Transko has established a Conflict Free Minerals Management Program to ensure that we meet the reporting requirements. We strive to work cooperatively with our supply chain partners and customers in implementing conflict minerals compliance. Under the program, the following policies have been implemented.
• All direct suppliers who provide products containing affected minerals, are required to submit a current report using the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) provided by Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI).
• Suppliers are assessed on the content of the report and appropriate action is taken where necessary for compliance.
• Suppliers are required to implement due-diligence measures to ensure that their supply chain remains conflict free.
• Transko will support customers by providing compliance information in a timely basis upon request.
To date, all of our suppliers have demonstrated compliance to our requirements and there is no indication that any of our products contain conflict minerals.
